Embrace Your Inner Child

Welcome Spiritual Soldiers,
It’s been a while since my last post, but I’m back—and from now on, you can expect a new post every Wednesday. Even though this space is called The Daily Root, the truth is that what you read here isn’t about frequency. It’s about application. Healing and getting to the root of who you are is a daily practice, something you carry into each moment.
Lately, I’ve been tangled in a daily web of congestion—stress, frustration, and the heaviness of routine. But even in those seasons, it’s often the smallest, unexpected moments that remind me to pause and come back to the present.
A few weeks ago, my wife and I went on a spontaneous bike ride. Now, let me tell you—I hadn’t been on a bike in over ten years, and it showed. Between wobbling up and down hills, nearly colliding with a parked car, and getting my flowy jeans stuck in the pedals, it was a comedy in motion. And yet, through all the clumsiness and laughter, my heart smiled.
That joy sparked a familiar feeling—innocence and freedom. As children, and even as teenagers, we move through the world with a certain lightness. We find joy in the simplest things. Riding that bike reminded me of what it feels like to let go and just be.
There’s something about the wind rushing across your face, the playful adrenaline of pedaling faster, and the trust that you’ll stop when you need to. It feels like a game. A reminder. A call back to the part of us that still wants to play.
So, I encourage you: embrace those moments that connect you to your inner child. Laugh. Be free. Be innocent. Let yourself feel joy without apology.
When was the last time you let yourself connect to your inner child?
Till next time,
Rayne
