Hello, Spiritual Soldiers,

I hope all is well with you. This week we are centering ourselves in grounding—tapping into our brown energy that is rooted deep within the earth. In that spirit, I want to share two resources that spoke to me this week.

While scrolling through my feed, I came across Dr. Alexis Cowen, who specializes in metabolic physiology, mitochondrial medicine, and light biology. In an interview snippet, she talked about the importance of grounding. One example she gave was placing your bare feet or palms directly on the earth. It immediately reminded me of the feeling of walking barefoot through grass or pressing your hands against the bark of a tree. She explained that something as simple as this allows us to receive free electrons from the earth—an exchange that can help balance out the stress of modern living.

For those of us who spend long hours at computers or on our phones, we could start  taking breaks to step outside, let the sunlight touch your skin, take your shoes off, and connect with the ground beneath you. Dr. Cowen even mentioned that just 20 minutes of grounding can reduce inflammation caused by everyday activities, including talking on the phone.

Later, in sharing this interview with a colleague, she introduced me to a site called earthing.com, which offers grounding mats, shoes, socks, and more—tools that help you stay connected to the earth even while indoors. I also found similar products on other sites.

Another point Dr. Cowen raised was about clothing and footwear. She emphasized how synthetic materials can block our connection to the earth. Natural fibers and materials—like cotton, cork, leather shoes, or even clothing made from organic fabrics—can support grounding and keep us aligned, extending nourishment to our bodies beyond just the food we eat.

So as we move through this week, I encourage you to find small ways to connect back to the earth: breathe in fresh air, let the sun bathe your skin, slip off your shoes, and spend a moment rooted in nature.

I’ve included links below to Dr. Cowen’s interview and grounding materials if you’d like to explore more.
